IKF U23 World Korfball Championship revised pools and match schedule
Tuesday, 08 May 2012 10:58

As the Czech Korfball Association has been given no guarantee of government financial support, the nation has withdrawn from the IKF U23 World Korfball Championship (IKF U23 WKC). They will be replaced by the first reserve, China.

To avoid 3 teams from Asia in the same pool, by making a direct swap between CZE and CHN, the earlier published pools have been reorganized with respect to the number of teams from each continent whilst still taking ranking into consideration.

The IKF U23 WKC will take place between Saturday 13 October and Saturday 20 October 2012 in Barcelona; POOLS AND MATCH SCHEDULE BELOW.

U19 Korfball World Cup 2012
Friday, 13 April 2012 08:30

The U19 Korfball World Cup 2012 was a great success. The Netherlands won the cup after a 26-16 win over the Chinese Taipei U19 team. It was not an easy victory. The Chinese Taipei youngsters matched the score till 13-13 in the second half. In the last 10 minutes of the match the Dutch created a gap and the Chinese Taipei team was tired and lost the confidence that they could win the final.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and the competitive spirit was high. The public was very enthusiastic on all 3 days and during all matches.

To underline the importance of this event the IKF President, Dr Jan Fransoo, awarded the medals and prizes in the prize giving ceremony.

The 2012 podium was:

1. The Netherlands
2. Chinese Taipei
3. Belgium
