New kid on the IKF block, Bulgaria, welcomed a team from Greece for a friendly match. In conjunction with the Bulgarian’s maiden match, a course for Bulgarian and Greek referees was also conducted.
The result of this historical first encounter was 12-18 with the Greeks emerging victorious. The Greeks used valuable experience gained from their
matches against Italy
earlier this year to good effect. The real big result of the event was the cultivation of a korfball friendship, which brought people from the neighboring countries together to enjoy the pursuit of korfball and the camaraderie that results from this.
The course for referees is definitely an important step in the development of both countries. The lecturing performance of IKF referee instructor Theo van der Linde was well received by the participants.
