In Seoul, Korea, the Korea Korfball Federation (KKF) has been founded. A provisional application for membership has already been received by the IKF Office, but we are waiting for some further details until the Council can formally approve them.
Currently, the KKF has about 30 individual members, who are all students or graduates of Seoul National
University of Education. Furthermore, about 500 schoolchildren in two Seoul elementary schools play korfball regularly.
The IKF President and Secretary General, who were in Korea last week to attend the Sportaccord conference, met with the President Kim and Secretary General Park of the KKF.
Later in the week, Jan Fransoo made a visit to Seoul National University of Education, where korfball was introduced last November by a team from the National Taipei University of Education (TPE), lead by IKF Regional Vice-President Dr Ying-Che Huang. He is also met with some of the SNUE students who currently form the korfball teams.
