Valdez is an enthusiastic teacher at a private middle school in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. He also works for the Instito Nacional de Education Fysica (INEFI), a governmental organisation responsible for physical education for Dominica’s public schools.

As Valdez was very interested and enthusiastic about korfball, he introduced Schermer to the boardmembers of the INEFI. INEFI has a strong position within the Caribbean area and South-America. The meeting with the INEFI was very successful and the Executive Director of the INEFI, Mr. Daniel Lara Angeles, has promised his full support for introducing korfball in the Dominican Republic. In the next two months ACE-in-Sport will work with the IKF Development and Promotion Committee, to co-ordinate the introduction of korfball into the Dominican Republic.
