During the recent International Korfball Federation’s (IKF) Executive Committee meeting the IKF ExCo made a draw to establish the pools for the IKF U23 World Korfball Championship to be held from 13 October to 20 October 2012 in Barcelona, Catalonia.
Due to circumstances the pools and match schedule had to be revised 8 May 2012; see the IKF U23 WKC revised pools and match schedule.
Twelve teams will participate in this event.
The IKF U23 World Korfball Championship is the most significant korfball event in the IKF’s 2012 calendar.

The pools were drawn with each set of two teams based on the current IKF Ranking.
The Netherlands is the current holder of the IKF U23 World Korfball Championship following the last championship held in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei in 2008.
