Turkey and Serbia are the surprise qualifiers for the 2010 European Championship, together with favorite Slovakia.

In Prievidza (Slovakia) an exciting qualification event took place over the weekend, showing many close matches, and above all, great progress of newcomers Serbia and Turkey who took part in the qualifications for the European Championship for the first time. Romania, Armenia, Italy and Greece were eliminated. Slovakia eventually won the final of this European Bowl (East division) competition, beating Serbia 10-7.

Next week the remaining three places will be contested in a competition that will take place in Luxemburg.
